CPSM Boot Camp held in Riverside, May 18-20
Twenty-two people from all over country (including 14 from UC) and one from Jamaica attended the UC Riverside-sponsored CPSM® (Certified Professional in Supply Management) boot camp. CPSM® is offered by the Institute for Supply Management and is recognized globally as a standard of excellence for professionals in procurement, supply management and supply chain management. Participants received 24 hours of continuing education hours for the three day camp. If you missed this one, not to worry as another camp is scheduled for January 2017.
Additional Prevailing Wage Training and Support
Many thoughtful questions were examined at the well-attended, April, May and June Prevailing Wage Office Hours. While the office hours are over, we will continue to support campuses with their prevailing wage issues. A Campus Point of Contact (CPOC) has been appointed for each location. These folks, along with representatives from Med Centers and Construction will attend an all-day training presented by outside counsel specializing in prevailing wage expertise in Santa Cruz on July 28th.
After this training, CPOCs will be the main point of contact for addressing questions on prevailing wage. An additional UC prevailing wage training webinar will be scheduled for all Procurement Professionals later in the summer and depending on need, campuses may plan additional in-person office hours or trainings. Look out for additional communication from your CPOC in August.
Terms and Conditions updates and Fair Wage/Fair Work Training Webinar
The Procurement Policy and Legal Documents Team is working on a communication to inform procurement staff of updates and changes to Terms and Conditions of Purchase and Fair Wage/Fair Work. The communication and updates will be sent in early July followed by a webinar which is scheduled for July 22, 11am-12pm. Please save the date until an official invitation is sent with all the details.
