Spend Analytics Gets an Upgrade!
Since our in-person campus training visits earlier this year, several enhancements have been made to Spend Analytics. Improvements to system performance have resulted in faster page loads along with updates to three tabs. We have also introduced campus and US Bank spend data from this fiscal year, bringing our total to 30 months of available data.
System Performance Improvements
To speed up system performance, Spend Radar recently migrated the UC environment to a server cluster, a group of independent servers working together as a single system. The cluster ensures that we have constant access to UC spend data by redistributing data requests to other computers in the cluster in the event of a slow-down or failure.
User Interface Enhancements
On the Dashboard Tab, the Spend by Supplier container has been updated to show the Top 1,000 suppliers. While data for all of our 250,000+ normalized suppliers continues to be available in all areas of the system, updating the container to only present the top 1,000 will improve the amount of time it takes for the Dashboard to load.

The Category Analysis Tab has also received a makeover with Classification/Supplier Grouping moved to its own container (image #1 below) with the ability to toggle to Data Breakouts by Campus, Transaction Type, Fund, etc. (image #2 below). Please see the attached script titled “Spend by UNSPSC Category” to kick start your exploration.

Lastly, the Advanced Filter tab has been updated to provide a single Fact Sheet, with the ability to toggle between the different data views: Supplier Limits (default), Invoice Limits and PO Limits. Please see the attached script titled “Spend by Purchasing Authority” to kick start your exploration.
The Procurement Services Website is continuously updated with the latest and greatest system training documents, including Quick Reference Guides, Scenarios and Webinar recordings. The latest scenarios to be added to the site are:
• How do I add multiple Vendors or Commodities to my query?
• What is my spend profile for a specific UNSPSC category?
• What is our total spend within each purchasing authority limit?
