UCLA Enrolls 8th Project in UCIP: CHS South Tower Seismic Renovation – Tenant Improvements
The University of California, Los Angeles has enrolled its 8th project, UCLA Center for the Health Sciences (CHS) South Tower Seismic Renovation – Tenant Improvements, into UCIP which is the University Controlled Insurance Program. This project will provide wet labs and office space for research and academic use within the CHS South Tower. The core and shell of this project were enrolled into the program earlier and now the tenant improvements portion of the project can also benefit from the savings, broad coverage, and improved safety that the UCIP provides.
In addition, UCIP provides coverage for damage resulting from construction defects and provides improved job site safety. The improved safety feature not only helps keep workers on the project site focused on their personal safety, but also raises the awareness of the risks to others around the project during construction and to ensure the safety of students, faculty, and the general public.
UCLA has enrolled more projects than any other campus to date. UCIP savings can help UCLA build for the future to continue the University’s mission to provide education, research, patient care and public service.
